How Drive AI Determines Vehicle Ownership Status

Drive AI can determine if a vehicle is no longer owned by a customer in two primary ways:

1. Vehicle Trade-Ins

When a customer trades in a vehicle for a new purchase, the traded-in vehicle is marked as no longer owned automatically by Drive AI.

2. Dealership Inventory Check

If a customer's vehicle appears in the dealership's inventory, that vehicle's VIN is marked as no longer owned automatically by Drive AI. A vehicle may appear in the dealerships inventory if they've purchased that customer vehicle, and it was not necessarily traded in.

Automated Updates from PBS

We also have the ability to pull updates on no longer owned vehicles directly from PBS. This integration ensures that our data is consistently updated with the latest information. However, at this time, we cannot extend this automated update capability to other DMS systems.

Manual Updates

In cases where a customer informs the dealership that their vehicle is no longer owned and it is not captured by the methods above, the dealership will need to manually mark the vehicle as no longer owned.
